Courage To Be Yourself

Postby Beautifully_Broken » Sat Oct 27, 2012 10:46 pm

Hey! I do a bible devotions thing every night. I just wanted to share what mine was tonight.

Courage to be Yourself

Are you tired of playing games, wearing masks or trying to be someone other than yourself? Wouldn't you like the freedom to just be accepted for who you are, without the pressure to be someone you really don't know how to be? Would you like to learn how to embrace your uniqueness and resist the pull to be like everyone else?

If you're going to overcome insecurities and be the person God's called you to be, you must have the courage to be different. Unhappiness and frustration happen when we reject our uniqueness and try to be like each other.

You're going to have to take a chance on not being like everyone else. You must ask yourself, am I a people pleaser or a God pleaser? It's not worth it to try and please man, because God didn't make you to live for other people's approval.

God knew what He was doing when He made you. You are a unique individual, God created you the way you are! It's time that you dare to accept yourself as different and stop being insecure about who you are.
With Jesus I can take it,
With Him I know I can stand,
No matter what may come my way,
My life is in your hands.

It's lonely when you don't even know yourself...

YES! Thank you for sharing. I was reading Psalm 139 . 13 last week - for you created my inmost being - and realised, perhaps for the first time, that this doesn't just apply to God embroidering my physical body together, but that he also embroidered my character, my emotions etc together. even though I sometimes feel I'm not good enough the way I am, or not as good as other people, I've been made uniquely how God wanted me. That applies to each one of us.

It's a really hard thing to put into practise Ruth and particularly where you are at University where they don't accept you and embrace you as the person you are.

We were talking about persecution in church today and tough times at work or wherever we are.

Those people are loosing out so much by not embracing you and accepting you as you are. Your such a special person and it's their loss.

Taken from Psalm 139:
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.

You Go Girl, You take courage and be all that God made you to be cos your truly a lovely lass.
