Happy Thread

Postby Beautifully_Broken » Mon Nov 15, 2010 9:33 pm

I thought that it might be nice to have a Happy Thread. A place where we can write things that have encouraged us during the day, nice things people have said to us or about us, and generally a place where others might seek encouragement from the encouragement we encounter.

For me, I was encouraged over the weekend by the love and care shown by everyone, to everyone. Most of the people at the conference had never met each other before Friday, and the bonds that were formed over the weekend have shown me that people do like me and I'm not a horrible person.

Today I one of my friends called me, 'just to chat' and my half brother got in touch with me about seeing my niece, saying that they are desperate for me to meet her.
With Jesus I can take it,
With Him I know I can stand,
No matter what may come my way,
My life is in your hands.

Yay! BB, fab thread, and I'm really had you've had a few good things today... good to celebrate with you.
I've had a lovely day off work, seen some friends too, and just had a lovely chat on the phone with another friend, so that's made my day nice.
Plus, I cooked this amazing sausage and lentil casserole tonight and was very proud of myself!!

Good idea will go well with our happy books :)

For me it is copying with Christopher this morning when he desided he wasn't going to do as I was asking. I stayed calm and didn't shout at him

Glad you have both had a good day as well and you are right BB it does help to here the nice things from others

Sounds like a lovely day Eppie and sausage and lentil casserole sounds divine!!

Yea, Zen, I thought that it would include the people who weren't at the conference, cause they might feel a bit left out if we are all talking about things that happened there.

Well done for coping this morning Zen, it can't be easy!

It's nice to share in other peoples happiness, encouragment and good thinks. I think it makes it easy for us to see it in our own lives. I've just finished making my happy book and I'm happy that I've made it! :)

When Kate got me to do mine a while a go they said to put things like recete (Sorry can't spell and Christopher being a pain so can't ask him) in for things like going for coffee with friends. Also they said to put Bible verses and songs that are encouraing so on the front of mine I have Philippians 4:8 I gave you that verse on a card If I remember right it is the version from The Message that I gave you.

A great idea - I hope this thread can be made sticky.

I'm only just up so - from yesterday:
i visited my friends - Barbara is feeling better - and stayed for supper.
I had a new programmer fitted for my boiler with no hassle at all.

My Happy Thought from yesterday was that I managed to clear out about six or seven bin bags full of clothes that dont fit me and it means someone else gets some really nice clothes and I raise alot of money for charity. There are probably about two thousand pounds worth of nearly new clothes to give.

At the same time I get to buy new ones.

Just had a phone call from a friend in Guildford and I can go down and see her and her pets on Saturday. Also I have a provisional date for my second hip replacement on 17th February.

She's not so good, but thanks for asking. And to keep this happy - I am very very glad I've seen her, so that's a good thing.

I read today that "an attitude of Gratitude" helps prevent relapse - yay! Reminded me of this thread ... so thought would share :D

Today I met someone who treated me really well ... so thankful for that. And I make my hubby a cake to show him I do appreciate all he does.
