BB and Hash lost some posts from their threads but only one must have been when you did it.

Sorry I missed this thread.

How are you getting logged in automatically? It doesn't let me.
At lunch time I didn't log out ( not what I'd to regularly ) and I still had to log in!!

Any hints?

Hello Bob,

how are you?

I have wanted to ask about something for a while, but it isn't about the new server.
A few of us who use the site regularly have experienced the frustration of being automatically logged out of the site if we spend slightly longer writing a post. Is there anywhere this time limit could be extended.

It usually happens at times when I have invested a bit more into saying more within a post, either because I am struggling more or in response to someone else. At that point of having explained things more thoroughly, to then lose it and not be able to retrieve it with any back button, can feel the last straw in attempts to communicate at that moment.

So if there was any way you could tweak the log out to give us more time, we would greatly appreciate it.

thank you for all you still do behind the scenes to keep this site running,
Sally

In the meantime, when in the message, periodically press CTRL-A (to highlight all), then CTRL-C to copy it to your clipboard. If you want, you can CTRL-V to copy it to a Word document or similar. That way, unless you copy something else or close the computer down, if you have to start the message again, CTRL-V will paste back everything you have written. This is how I get round an annoying email problem like that! (You can use right click and select the options if you aren't a shortcut freak!)

Yes, Ann, when I remember to, I copy the message just before I submit in case it vanishes, so can just paste when relogged in. Just don't seem to remember that when I'm upset and explained more.

But I hope your tip helps me remember and for others too.

That's where I find using the shortcuts makes it easier!
